Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrated at Baba Farid Public School
Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated at Baba Farid Public School a few days back. In the morning assembly many students shared their views on Kargil war and some students recited poems related the same. At the end the students and teachers took oath to keep our country secure and proud. A seminar related to Kargil Vijay Diwas was organized in Farid Auditorium in which all the students of class IX to XII were present. Worthy Chairman S. Inderjit Singh Khalsa shed light on the role of 8 Sikh Regiment in the victory of Kargil War. He also shared the historic wars of Chamkaur (1705) & Saragarhi (1895) and said that the students should also be aware of the sacrifices made by martyrs for sake of our safety & security. He justified that these days the correct history is not being provided to the students. Instead, the factual information is being manipulated and then presented in the books. After this, Committee Member S. Surinder Singh Romana also enlightened few facts on history. In closing, Respected Principal Mrs. Kuldeep Kaur shared her views with students saying that we should not forget the big sacrifices of martyrs and also we should focus on the points of being good civilian for the up-lifting of our nation’s pride. She also shared knowledgeable facts of history beyond books and paid thanks to Worthy Chairman S. Inderjit Singh Khalsa Ji and S. Surinder Singh, Committee Member. Lastly a tribute was paid to the Martyrs of Kargil War.
